Oct 10. Tatti's 421 Wellies 338 |
|
The
Tatti's were on top form for the visit of Wellies &
flattened their best ever total of 421 to win by a massive
83 pins.
They
chalked up ELEVEN spares during the contest, with every
leg above a hundred apart from the second where a 3 &
a 4 meant they could only manage 97!
Westy (right) topped the scoring with 43 (9,9,16,9) while
Berti & Phil Hill scored 42, & Boundy also made
next week's paper with 40. |

Oct 10. Woodentops 320 Tatti's 328 |
|
With
the Commonwealth games out of the way, & gold medal
bagged, Rob could finally focus on the more important
matter of playing skittles.
He returned to action at
the Barrels against bottom of the table Woodentops, &
the scene of his wooden spoon effort of 15 two years previously.
Old timers, Gash Senior & Junior, were both present
& apart from Statto's nine & a brilliantly taken
twelve by Prycer, they were both shaking their heads at
the quality of the skittling on display. At the half way
point the Bogoes were fifteen pins adrift, & in danger
of losing their 100% record. However, Stuee's third leg
thirteen gave them hope, & as Rob finished his return
match with an eleven, they at least left Woodentops a
reasonble target of 82. In the end it turned out to be
enough by eight pins. |

Oct 10. Tatti's 369 Evans SC 356 |
|
The
Tatti's continued their 100% start to the season with
a 13 pins victory over historically their biggest title
rivals Evans SC.
With a few players unable to
attend, & their Commonwealth Games record breaker
Rob Weale (most
number of medals for a bowler; six)
still airborne, flying back from Delhi, the Bogoes were
a player short. So Stuee Griffiths called on his father,
Tony, to make his debut.
Tony put in a solid performace to help
the Tatti's on their way to a vital win, & remain
at the top of the table, with a game in hand. Top score,
37, was shared by Berti, Ali, & Westy. |

Oct 10. Away match against Beevers postponed |
|
|
Congratulations
to Rob Weale, who won a Commonwealth Games gold medal
in the men's bowls singles, after
beating
Australia's Leif Selby in a thrilling
three-set final in Delhi.
Rob commented afterwards "It's an
absolutely fantastic moment for me. Obviously you dream
of winning gold, but I've had a couple of goes at it
now in the singles, & it's 3rd time lucky for me.
I've had bronze in 2002, silver in 2006, & now gold.
This is the icing on the cake, I'm over the moon. He
added, "I've been World Indoors Champion, &
I've had Commonwealth gold before in the fours but with
so many near misses - I've had three silvers in the
Commonwealths which ended in defeat to the Aussies -
I've finally put one accross on them"

Oct 10. Tatti's 378 Ramblers 324 |
|
The
Tatti's were on top form last Friday to brush aside the
challenge of Ramblers with a 54 pins victory at the Lads
Club.
Boundy was quick off the mark again
to floor his fourth spare of the season a 16 in a good
97 first leg. Ramblers
soon found themselves a huge 33 pins behind after a dismal
64, & if there was any doubt left about the result
Prycer ended them by starting the second leg with a 12,
& finishing the third with a 17, to top score with
46, & complete two back to back 40's.
Phil Hill celebrated his 50th birthday
last weekend (Sunday), & should have scored the winning
pins. Unfortunately Allan stole his limelight when he
accidentally played out of turn, doh! |
